The Triangle Prop starting line is the most common type of step-down start-up in our electrical work, which is suitable for the start-up of three-phase squirrel cage induction motors with Triangle Prop connection at run time. Its working principle is: the motor starts to connect the stator windings into a star shape, the voltage on each phase winding is reduced to the 1/√3 of the rated voltage, so that the current is reduced to 1/3 of the Triangle Prop direct operation; When the motor speed is close to the nominal value, the winding is then converted into a Triangle Prop so that the motor enters the full pressure operation mode.

In our daily work, we often assemble our own star-shaped Triangle Prop starting line, but the line also has finished products for sale, such as QX1, QX2 series manually converted star-Triangle Prop buck starter, and QX3, QX4 is a delay-time relays with the automatic conversion type star-Triangle Prop buck starter.

In the work of the star-shaped-Triangle Prop starting line, common with manual conversion and automatic conversion of two ways, now most of the use of automatic conversion lines. This line consists of 3 AC contactors, 1 three-phase thermal relays and a time relay, with a Start button and a stop button. The principle of the line is: After the knife switch QS, press the Start button SB2, the main AC contactor KM1 and star AC contactor KM2 power, the circuit at this time into the start-up process. Then the delay time relay KT1 also due to km3-1 often closed contact point of the electric start time, wait for the delay after the relay, its extension often closes the contact point Kt1-1 disconnects the AC contactor KM2, simultaneously its extension often opens the contact point kt1-2 conduction to enable the Triangle Prop AC contactor KM3 to work, causes the line to enter the Triangle Prop to work the way, thus completes the entire start-up-the operation process. The thermal relay in the line is used as an overload protector, while the button SB1 is used as the Stop button.
